1. How do I find a cause to support with my online shopping?
Every time you visit the Shopperosity.com, we'll let you know your currently selected cause (if you have one) and give you the opportunity to change your selection. Using "Find a Charity " you can locate a specific charity. You may also select one of our most popular organizations listed for your convenience.
2. How can my favorite cause participate in the Shopperosity.com program?
Please have someone at the charity (non-profit, school, church, etc.) fill out a charity application form online at http://www.shopperosity.com/register_charity.php. You can start shopping for this charity immediately. Eventually, each charity must be verified and Shoperosity.com reserves the right to remove any charity or cause that violates our terms of use.
3. Do I have to start my shopping at http://www.shopperosity.com in order to benefit my selected charity?
Yes. Our store partners pay Shopperosity.com an affiliate fee (or commission) for purchases made by customers who start their shopping at our site. If a merchant can't confirm that a sale originated at Shopperosity.com, they won't pay us the commission and we can't pay your selected charity. In general, you should be able to bookmark Shopperosity links to specific stores and still have your chosen charity receive proper credit.
4. How much does my charity earn each time I shop?
The percentage or flat dollar amount given back as a commission or affiliate fee varies from merchant to merchant and even sometimes from product to product within a merchant's store. Merchants can also change their affiliate fee structure with little notice. While we publish a general range of commission for each store, please be aware that these are general guidelines. In most cases, the more you shop, the greater the commission your charity will earn.
5. What does "collected" commission mean?
Shopperosity.com relies on the affiliate fees, or commissions, paid by merchants in the shopping network to make royalty payments to your charitable cause. If a merchant can't confirm that a sale originated at Shopperosity.com, they won't pay us the commission and we can't pay your selected charity.
6. Am I paying the same price when I shop through Shopperosity.com, even though my selected charity is earning a commission from my purchases?
Yes. You pay the exact same price you'd pay if you shopped with our merchants directly. And if you register with us, we can keep you informed of special deals and sales that save you money while at the same time supporting your favorite charity.
7. Do I get a tax deduction for the commission which goes to my selected cause?
No. The IRS limits tax deductibility for charitable contributions to the amount paid over and above the fair market price for an item. Since the prices you pay when buying from the merchants in our online shopping network are the same as if you purchased directly from the merchant, no tax-deductible event occurs.
8. Can I designate different charitable causes to receive credit for part of an order?
At this time multiple organizations cannot earn credit from a single purchase. However, between purchases you are welcome to change the charity you support as often as you like.
9. Can I be sure that Shopperosity.com will pass along collected commissions to my favorite cause?
Yes. Shopperosity.com is a company you can trust. Our owner is a member of the clergy and also has solid Internet and retail marketing expertise. Charities registered in our system may request an audit of our records at any time to ensure that they are receiving all monies due them. The entire team at Shopperosity.com is committed to strengthening charitable cause resources by helping them tap into the power of the Internet.
10. I'm uncomfortable providing my credit card information over the Internet. May I make a purchase any other way?
Shopperosity.com is currently designed to be used as an internet shopping mall. While we realize that some are still apprehensive about shopping online, the internet has come a long way in recent years, and shopping online is now one of the most secure ways to shop. The most stringent security measures are followed to ensure that your credit card information is always safe. All of our store partners offer security guarantees and individual payment methods such as Visa, MasterCard, and American Express offer fraud protection. We encourage you to check their Web sites for details and alternative payment options. Please note that when using alternate payment methods, you may need to specify that your purchase should generate an affiliate fee to Shopperosity.com. Using such alternate methods may result in your selected charity not receiving your donation.
11. How do I know the online stores in the Shopperosity shopping network are secure?
When you begin the "check out" process in an online store the transaction is moved to a secure server to encrypt and protect the information you provide. There are two ways to tell if you are interacting with a secure server -- the URL in your browser window begins with "https" instead of "http" and a small lock icon appears in the bottom right of your window frame. Shopperosity.com only partners with stores that use a secure server connection for online transactions.
In most cases, this is more secure than other ways of conventional shopping. For example, when you use your credit card in person or give it over the phone, you are trusting another person to be honest with your information. Remember, they eventually send your information over the internet or phone, to, in order to process it. When you shop online through a secure server, only you and the card processor ever sees your credit card number, so you actually eliminate at least one layer of vulnerability.
12. May I return a purchase?
Each merchant in our shopping network has a customer service page that describes their return policy. Please visit the store you purchased from for for details. Returned orders will cause the commission to your charity to be reversed.
